Head Coach Harvey Biljon has taken full control of the Jersey
squad this week, and the club are hoping the new recruit will crown
his first week with a crucial league victory.
The obstacle lying in the way of Biljon and his squad is however
a considerable one, with the Championship's second-placed side,
Rotherham Titans, the visitors to St Peter. The game kicks off at
3pm.
Rotherham have won their last eight matches in all competitions,
and have suffered just three league defeats all season by narrow
margins to fellow high-fliers Bristol, Leeds and London Welsh.
However Jersey will be boosted by the return of several
front-line players. Niall O'Connor (pictured above during
Jersey's last league match against London Welsh) is back in
the fly-half position after missing the British & Irish Cup
trip to Ayr and will partner former Rotherham scrum-half Jimmy
Williams. Jack Burroughs also returns to action and will start at
full-back.
In the forwards, skipper Alex Rae returns to the line-up and
will form a second row partnership with Dave Markham, who is
preferred to Nick Campbell. Some tricky selection dilemmas for
Biljon in the back row has resulted in a starting trio of Latu
Makaafi, Fred Silcock and Tom Brown.
